  • BelOMO 20x Quadruplet Loupe Magnifier

    BelOMO 20x Quadruplet Loupe Magnifier

The BelOMO 20x Quadruplet Loupe Magnifier has a viewing area of .28" (7mm), much larger than the Bausch & Lomb Hastings 20x Triplet Magnifier. The large .5" (17.5mm) 4 elements gather lots of light to provide this quadruplet loupe with a bright and clear view.

The following details are true of any lens such as a loupe magnifier, microscope, telescope, camera lens or other high magnification lens.

A 20x magnifier should NOT be the only magnifier you own. It's just too much magnification for normal usage. For instance, if you're using it to look at newsprint you would see at most a 4 letters at a time.

Must you have such strong magnification?

You'll be incredibly close to the object you are examining. Almost touching. For a 10x the focus distance is around 3/4'' but for a 20x it's about 5/16''.

The 20x power magnification provides a very strong level of magnification which works best on flat objects like coins or stamps or surfaces of objects. However, only a small area (field of view) will be visible. Think of examining a quarter and all you can see is the date but it's highly magnified.

The stronger the magnification means the less depth of field the lens will have. Depth of field is the vertical relief that appears in focus on an object having an irregular surface like a rock or mineral. You'll have to ''dance'' the lens around more on rocks and minerals but the portion of the object you're viewing will be highly magnified. The limited depth of field also make a 20x the most magnification you'll want to use when hand holding a loupe. With a higher magnification the slightest movement in you hand will cause the image to continually move in and out of focus.

The high magnification works well when you need to closely examine the surface of a rock or mineral, the surface of a gem for minute scratches, small areas of coins and stamps or any other object where you need to examine a small area under high magnification. It's great for reading laser inscriptions on diamonds.

The 20x power is a favorite of sharpeners of knives and razors, examining phonograph needles and pen nibs because you can see such edge detail.

The larger size of this lens compared to other 20x loupes means it will capture lots of light for a very bright view. This is also a loupe that you can hold comfortably in your hand unlike the smaller than a dime lens from Bausch & Lomb.

The housing and cover are machined metal and coated with a matte black finish and assembled using flathead screws. Belarusian Optical and Mechanical Association (BelOMA), makers of sights for guided weaponry, camera lenses, and other optical components manufacturers these loupes.

Highly recommended by the Amateur Geologist. The BelOMO loupes are the loupes we always use though it's the 10x that we typically carry in the field. If you MUST have 20x power then this is a great lens to have.

Don't let this price fool you. The BelOMO loupe is a FANTASTIC buy. These are quality lenses that stand on their own against the higher priced competition. Take advantage of the recovering Belarus economy and a military supplier finding other revenue streams in a capitalistic market.

Each BelOMO loupe we ship is custom treated to prevent the screws from coming loose with usage.

  • BelOMO 10x Triplet Loupe Magnifier

    BelOMO 10x Triplet Loupe Magnifier

The BelOMO 10x21mm(.85") triplet loupe magnifier has a viewing area of 0.65 inch (17mm), much larger than the Bausch & Lomb Hastings Triplet Magnifier. The 3 elements making up this achromatic triplet provide a bright and clear view. The 10x power magnification provides the best magnification to depth of field ratio and is the most popular power for a hand held magnifier. The housing and cover are machined metal and coated with a matte black finish and assembled using flathead screws. Belorussian Optical and Mechanical Association (BelOMA), makers of sights for guided weaponry, camera lenses, and other optical components manufacturers these loupes.

We highly recommend this loupe. This is the lens we use all the time.

  • BelOMO 15x Triplet Loupe Magnifier

    BelOMO 15x Triplet Loupe Magnifier

The BelOMO 15x Triplet Loupe magnifier has a viewing area of 0.38in (9mm). The 3 elements making up this achromatic triplet provide a bright and clear view. The 15x power magnification provides a nice level of magnification, good depth of field (the area that appears in focus on an object having an irregular surface like a rock or mineral). The lens glass isn't as large, wide, as the famous BelOMO 10x Triplet Loupe Magnifier but there's still lots of light for a very bright view when you need or want just more magnification than the BelOMO 10x Triplet Loupe Magnifier but not as much magnification as the BelOMO 20x Quadruplet Magnifier.

The housing and cover are coated with a matte black finish and assembled using flathead screws. Screws allow you to adjust the swing tension to your liking. Belarusian Optical and Mechanical Association (BelOMA), makers of sights for guided weaponry, camera lenses, and other optical components manufacturers these loupes.

We highly recommend this loupe! The BelOMO loupes are the loupes we always use though it's the 10x that we typically carry in the field. The 15x has a more magnification with a good field of view. But the magnification is just too much for the field so it's the BelOMO 10x Triplet Loupe Magnifier carry.

Don't let this price fool you. The BelOMO loupe is a FANTASTIC buy. These are quality lenses that stand on their own against the higher priced competition. Take advantage of the recovering Belarus economy and a military supplier finding other revenue streams in a capitalistic market.

This price has the steepest discount we've ever offered because we want you to decide which lens you'll leave safely behind and which lens you'll risk losing when you're away from home or the shop. Even though you'll find the BelOMO 10x Triplet Loupe the best loupe for your use you'll use it everywhere because the price is cheap enough to allow you to do so. Why, you can almost buy 2 BelOMO 10x Triplet Loupes for the price of one Bausch & Lomb 10x Triplet Loupe.

(Hey!!! Maybe you can sell the "extra" Bausch & Lomb 10x Hastings Triplet Loupe on eBay!!!!)

    BelOMO 10x Triplet Loupe

Recommended by the Amateur Geologist. This is the loupe we hang around our neck and we carry many others in our online Amateur Geologist shop including the Bausch & Lomb Hastings Triplet and Coddington loupes. The BelOMO Triplet Loupe Magnifier is easily comparable in quality to the Bausch & Lomb Hastings Triplet and only about 1/3 of the price.

The BelOMO 10x21mm (.85") Triplet Loupe Magnifier has a viewing area of 18mm, much larger than the Bausch & Lomb Hastings Triplet (see the images below). The 3 lens elements, bonded together, making up this achromatic triplet provide a bright, clear, color correct, and flat view of any object you examine. The machined metal frame and supports are coated with a matte black finish and assembled using flathead screws. Belorussian Optical and Mechanical Association (BelOMA), makers of sights for guided weaponry, manufactures these loupes. The BelOMO 10x Triplet Loupe Magnifier is a great tool for the geologist, rockhound, jeweler, examining rocks and minerals, stamp collectors, coin collectors, or any one who has a need for a high quality magnifier.

A swing-away, matte black finish case protects the lens and serves as a handle.

    • focal distance of 1" (2.5 cm )
    • 40 diopters
    • 18 mm lens diameter.

While the screws allow you to adjust the swing tension to what you like and allow for easy cleaning of the loupe they can come loose in use unlike the rivets which hold the Baush & Lomb loupes together. To alieve this problem, each BelOMO 10x Triplet Loupe we sell is custom treated to eliminate the machine screws vibrating loose during use of the loupe.

Bausch & Lomb 10x Triplet Loupe

The Bausch & Lomb Triplet lenses are truly the finest magnifiers Bausch & Lomb has to offer. Hastings Triplet Magnifiers incorporate three separate achromatic lenses, bonded together to form a compound lens to provide sharp, very distinct magnified image without distortion.

A swing-away, nickel-plated case protects the lens and serves as a handle.
    • focal distance of 1" (2.5 cm )
    • 40 diopters
    • 15.8 mm lens diameter.
