Designed for classroom, home school, or just to help you become familiar with various rocks and minerals. Extra large specimens of rocks and minerals have more surface area to examine. Sometimes it just takes a larger piece to really get the feel of the rock or mineral type. These pieces are approximately sized at 2'' x 1 1/2'' and there's a total of 40 pieces making up this collection.

This collection has samples off all three rock types igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. It includes specimens of the rock-forming minerals used in studying the major minerals that make up the composition of rocks.

To learn about the uses of rocks and minerals it contains examples of ore-forming minerals and minerals used in industrial applications.

Comes in a plastic compartmented container.

(The Washington State School System has specific requirements for the study or rocks and minerals and this collection complies with those requirements. The actual name of the collection is "Washington School Collection" but only because it complies in size and content to the rocks and minerals required. The actual rocks and minerals are found worldwide and it's extremely doubtful that any are actually from Washington.)

I was very satisfied with my purchase. Although shipping took so long, I forgot I had even ordered them, it was worth the wait. So glad I was able to get some of these authentic limited edition Sierra Nevada cobbles before mass wasting destroyed them all, or before glaciation comes back and covers them all up again.
